Tevita and Toma Digital Dig 2017

Today we had Cybersmart with our Cybersmart teacher called Mrs Sherring.I was learning to keep my password safe and I have finish this task with my Mate/Buddy his name was called Toma we have our slide we were doing was Digital Dig.What I am looking forward for next week cybersmart is to change my password because people knows my password and I am so scared if the Hack it.What I found challenging today was Making a sentence and take some word off and make the letter my password like (EXAMPLE) I went to the shop.And they take all the second  letters off and make the first letter and just put the 1 letter and make it ass a password so it will be IWTTS stand for I went to the shop.If you guys don't know what a digital dig means it means digging deep for information.

Cyclone hits north Queensland

Today is a very sad day for north Queensland. Why? because there is going to be a cyclone hitting their area.I'm not quite sure why this is happening but the forecast is expecting wind gusts near the centre of up to 275 kilometres per hour.Lots of high tides are also expecting when this is happening the article says 2.5 above normal tides.This is so sad because lots of people are getting told to evacuate from their houses.This cyclone will be the fifth to hit north Queensland I think.The government is urging people to stay indoors before they get hurt.This cyclone is called cyclone debbie I think this cyclone will be a big one because the article says that because this cyclone debbie is so large it could take up 18 hours for the cyclone's core to pass.

Reuse and attribute an image

WALT: share our learning about Cybersmart and also reuse, and attribute an image.
Today I got to finish me and my buddies Reuse and attribute an image work.What I found challenging was going on google and looking for images.Another thing I found challenging was searching for the type of license. It was challenging because I had to search for the type of License.A thing that wasn't challenging was searching up the image. Another thing I found not challenging was getting the author's name.

Toma Reflection: Polyfest

I am learning to reflect on what I did on thursday.

During this piece of writing I will be writing about the Year 7 and 8 Kia manawanui experience on Thursday of week 7 term 1.The purpose of this Whanaungatanga Experience was to communicate as one and have fun with each other.My second purpose will be to participate in all of the activities.I learnt that communicating as one will be fun because if you don’t have lots of people it will be less people to play with and it will be quite boring with small players.I saw students showing Manaakitanga I also saw people having lots of fun participating in the activities the teachers gave us.

On thursday 16th of March 2017 we went polyfest.I felt Nervous because I knew that there will be lots of people.How did I know that? I knew that because I’ve heard on google that polyfest is the biggest polynesian festival in the whole wide world.I also felt excited because I knew that I will be watching lots of performances and also eating lots of cultural food.

What I wished we could’ve done was spot light. Why? Because I wanted to build relationship with new people, I wanted other people to participate in the game,learning from my fears which is the dark,and having fun with my peers in my group, and making the right choices.

What did I enjoy on thursday ? I enjoyed every single thing especially the time when we're on news hub.we did but right now I will just be giving you 1. That 1 thing will be polyfest, obviously because I got to see other people perform for their culture and I got to get nice cultural food.Right now I will be giving you guys 2 performances that I liked and why I liked it.

The first thing will be the maori group. Why? Because they were all giving it ago and not only that they were also representing their culture by going up on stage and doing what they have learnt on the past few weeks or days.My second favourite performance was the indian group. Why? I liked the indian group because I knew that they put lots of effort into it. Another reason why I liked the indian group was that I saw them all trying their best even though they were all tired.

What I’ve learnt through this hole thing is to always try your best even though you're tired, I also learnt was To never give up, another thing I learnt is that whenever you go up on stage in front of lots of people try your best to represent that culture that you choose to represent. For example you join the Tongan group and everyone in your group is trying there best to represent that group.

A Bee-tastic Record

I am learning to read articles from the website kiwi kids news.

Today I read an world record that was broken in May 2014,When I saw this I was so shocked because who would do this who would get stinged from lots of bees.I can't believe that a chinese beekeeper tried it out. The article says that a man called Ruan Liangming was smeared with honey and covered in bees, wearing no shirt and with only cotton earplugs for protection.Ruan Liangming has kept bees for 19 years, Ruan said that he was brave and understands their habits and other things.The time Ruan did was 53 minutes and 34 seconds covered in the bees before he had to shake them off when his legs went numb.Guinness World Record officials were there to officiate the record.

Maths work: Challenging divided by work

Today for maths I did some divided by work, For my divided by work I got some questions that I answered. Right now I will be showing and telling you guys what I did for maths. Here is my questions from maths:

Lilly made 36 cupcakes for a picnic
A. She wanted 6 cupcakes on each paper plate. How many plates would she need? 6 why? because 6 x 6 = 36

B. What other numbers of cupcakes could she have on each plate if each plate had the same number of cupcakes? 4 why? because #
9 x 4 = 36.

C. Lilly put 4 cupcakes on each of 3 plates. How many more plates would she need if she wanted 6 cupcakes on each of the other plates? There is 4 cupcakes on 3 plates which means there is 3 plates that have 4 cupcakes. There is 24 cupcakes left so what I did was draw 6 dots which was my cupcakes then I drawed 4 plates for those 6 cupcakes which means there was 6 cupcakes on each of those 4 plates.      Here is a photo of my work that I did

After all that I did a maths work which was divided by there was 12 maths equations that I had to solve which I did.

I am going to be telling/showing you guys my maths equation work that I just finished solving:

1. 20 ÷ 5  =4

4x5 =20

2. 12 ÷ 4 = 3

3x4=12

3. 45 ÷ 5 = 9

9x5=45

4. 70 ÷ 10 = 7

7x10=70

5. 42 ÷ 6 = 7

7x6 = 42

6. 32 ÷ 8 = 9

4x8 = 32

7. 27 ÷ 3 = 9

9x3 = 27

8. 36 ÷ 9 = 4

4x9 = 36

9. 56 ÷ 8 = 7

7x8 = 56

10. 48 ÷ 6 = 8

8x6 = 48

11. 35 ÷ 5 = 7

7x5 = 35

12. 54 ÷ 6 = 9

9x6 = 54.

Underwater Volcano near Tonga island

Hello guys I will be telling you guys about an article that I just finished reading, This article that I will be telling you guys is about an Underwater Volcano eruption near Tonga. 
Today read an pretty sad article about an underwater Volcano near Tonga.The article says that the volcano name was  “Submarine Volcano III” the volcano has been erupting 
for over a week according to a GNS scientist and NASA.
The volcano is about 46km away from northwest of Tonga's Capital,Nuku'alofa.The article says that satellite images taken from the Tongan area proved the underwater eruption is still going.This is far from the first time the Kingdom of Tonga region has been struck by an underwater volcano.The event has been detected in the area often times since 1911,with the uncommonly large eruptions creating short-lived islands.

5kg of coins removed from turtle

I am learning to use the website kiwi kids news to find articles. Here is an article that I found that will hopefully make you guys enjoy reading.
Today I read an interesting article, I couldn't even believe that this has even happen.The article that I read today was about 915 coins removed from a turtle's stomach.The thai vets found 5kg coins inside this turtle.The article says that the green sea turtle had been living in Sriracha,east of the Thai Capital of Bangkok.The coins and other objects were removed from the turtle which was named Omsin,which means piggy bank in Thai.The vets in Thai weighed the coins 5kg with the turtle itself 59kg.The vets said they think that their seven-hour-long operation was the world's first such surgery.I feel sorry that the turtle had to go through seven hour of operation.

Today I read an amazing article about the singer Lorde releasing her new single album Green light.I am so shocked because the article says that her album Green light has already hit nine million views on youtube ever since it was released on friday the 3rd of march of 2017.This article says that Green Light is the first song to be released from her upcoming album Melodrama. Green light has been became the top trending topic worldwide.This song took 1 hour to upload and as soon as it uploaded it already had 500,000 views I can't believe it.The kiwi pop star Lorde has been received stuff from other celebrities and those celebrities are Katy perry, and Hayley Williams of Paramore.

Reflection:Technology

On March 2nd of 2017 the year 7/8 from T.P.S went to Tamaki college for technology. I was in food tech, What we made in food tech was a mini quiche. What is a mini quiche? a Mini quiche is one of the world's most perfect foods  I heard that They're fun to make you can fill them with anything you like. Here is a photo of a mini quiche that I made with my buddy Sifa:

The part that I didn't like about tech today was when our mini quiche wasn't even cooking properly. It was still runny so me and my buddy sifa were starting to starve. Another thing that I didn't like about food tech was when me and Sifa had to wash and dry the dishes. 

The part that I liked about food tech was when we finally got to eat does mini quiche. Me and sifa got six each As soon as I put it in my mouth I was amazed with what we did. Sifa my buddy finished his mini quiche way before me I still had 5 left.

My thoughts about Food Tech are actually pretty good because how our mini quiche's has came out nice and delicious, and how I enjoyed it very much with my Buddy who is Sifa.

My feelings about food tech is that I feel good because now I know how to make mini quiche.Thanks to Miss Tuipulotu I know how to make mini quiche.

Flooding in chile

I am learning to find article's that is related to pollution.

Rainstorms and landslides have made a major river flood forcing the people to cut off drinking water to at least four
million people in Chile, South America.Some people said that the water supply from the Maipo river would be cut off to most of the city’s after this major river flood. The water will be back until the flood is cleared out.

Minimum three people have been killed and 19 are missing as rivers overflowed and bridges were washed away into the river.Some homes got filled up with dirty water as rivers overflowed.

Some shops ran out of bottle of water and a number of supermarkets reported scuffles between people eager to stock up.Restaurants and businesses in the affected areas were ordered to stay closed and schools were also told to delay the start of the school year, until for Monday.
