Kiwisport( Flag Football)

I am learning to reflect about Flag Football.

On Monday we had Kiwisport. What we are doing for Kiwisports this term is Flag football. Our coach are Will, and Carl. What we first did was a little warm up. What we had to do for our warm up was jog on the spot until he said break own and when he said that we all had to say hut. Then our coaches taught us how to throw the ball and catch the ball like and NFL player would. Then we played a game when you'll have to pass the ball around at least 4 times around then get a touchdown.


What I found challenging from Kiwisport was trying to throw the ball because I'm not use to throwing the ball like that. What I also found challenging was trying to pass the ball around because there were lots of people in my way and I also couldn't see my team mates.

Technological World: Cars Overtime UNFINISHED!

WALA: Our technological world.

Tody for Inquiry we got into groups of 2. My buddy was Amon and we had to talk about how technology has changed overtime. The Technology we picked was cars. Here is a Unfinished DLO that Me and My buddy has done.

What I found challenging was trying find the types of cars that people used back in the old days and also trying to find the inventors of the cars. What I enjoyed was working with my buddy Amon because me and him had a lot of fun learning about new cars and old cars.

Technology

I am learning to reflect about Technology.

Today for Technology we made Chocolate cupcakes. The person I was with was Akanesi and it was fun making it because our cooking teacher Ms Tuipulotu said that our chocolate cupcakes were the best out all of them.

What I found challenging was trying to catch up with all the other people because we were the last group to put our chocolate muffins in but at the end of the day we had the best tasting cupcakes out of all the other groups. What I enjoyed was being able to work with someone I never worked with in Technology.

Ingredients :

Cocoa Powder

S.R Flour

Sugar

Egg

Milk

Oil

Step 1 - Add 2 cups of S.R Flour to your bowl.

Step 2 - Add 1 cup of Sugar to the bowl.

Step 3 - Add 1/2 of oil to the bowl.

Step 4 - Add 1 cup of Milk to the bowl.

Step 5 - Add 1 egg.

Step 6 - Add 1/4 of cocoa powder.

Step 7 - Combine ALL and mix well, scoop into the muffin tray.

Step 8 - Bake 180°C for 15 minutes.

Step 9 - ENJOY!

Maths

WALT: Read decimals to three places.

SC: I can read decimals to three places. I can explain the value of the numbers.

Today for maths we talked about decimals. What I learnt about decimals today was about that on the left side of the decimal point that is the whole number and on the right side of the decimal point is the fraction of the number. We got a sheet of paper with lots of decimal task. The task was to Write the decimal numbers below in order from greatest to least and from least to greatest.

What I found challenging was trying to put it in order because there was some numbers that looked exactly the same but it wasn't.

What I enjoyed was working with my buddy Demetrius because whenever I got stuck on something he will help me out.

Te Tuhi

I am learning to reflect about the Te Tuhi trip.

Today we went to the te tuhi art gallery. Our teacher from te tuhi was Salome .We first went to the art class and did some art. The type of art we did was an abstract art. What I put onto my abstract art was a ps4 controller, pencil, and T.V. We had to draw 2 straight line going on an angle and another 2 lines going on another angle.

After we did our artwork we went and explored some of the things in the art gallery. One of the things we explored from the art gallery was an art that an Tongan person has created. The artist name was Benjamin Work and he created an art from the Tongan shield. 

Benjamin changed some things from the Tongan shield which was the 3 stars, the crown, the eagle, and the 3 swords. Benjamin Work got those symbols from research and from war clubs. The matt on the ground was created from Benjamin's family.

What I learnt from today was the meaning of abstract art. I found out that abstract art is a type of art that has colour, texture, effect, and shapes. How I think technology plays a role in abstract painting is by using pencils, pallets, and more. What I think is a way to make something abstract is by painting something that is real and using shapes to create it.

Food Technology

I am learning to reflect about what I did for technology last Term.

Last Term for one of our Technology sessions we made Nacho's.

Before we started cooking we went through the rules which was

1. Follow Instructions

2. Read Instructions Correctly

3. Know How To Measure Correctly

4. Show Respect

Then we started cooking and the Ingredients were 

1. Beans

2. Mince

3. Onions

4. Chips

5. Tomato paste.

What I found challenging was trying to not over cook the mince. What I enjoyed was eating the food because it was perfectly cooked and nice.

Inquiry: What Is Technology?

WALA: Our Technological World.

Key Question: How does technology affect us?

Technology is something that has a useful purpose or something that makes life easier. Like in the old days you'll have to go to the lake and get water, now just go to your kitchen and turn on a pipe and you'll get water from there.

There are lots of Technology things in my house that makes things a lot easier. Like instead of making fire to make food we can just get raw food and put it in a pot and cook it on a stove or oven. Another thing that helps with me and my family is the phones because it helps us contact with family overseas and it also tells us what is happening around the world.

There are also things that helps everyone in the world to travel like airplanes: they help people to travel around the world, boats: helps people to go on the water without getting wet and also to catch fish, Cars: helps people get from one place to another.
