Volcanic Model

I am learning to create a volcanic model.

Today we reflected about our volcanic model that we made in our science class. The model that I did was one that was talking about the ash plume which is caused by the interaction of lava and ice. It also talks about one of the boundaries which is called the Divergent boundary and also the Magma inside the volcano.

What we had to do for this activity was cut out the pieces then glue it together to form the model. There was another one which was talking about volcano itself.

How do volcanic eruptions happen? Volcanic eruptions happen from either other natural disasters or when the tectonic plates in the volcano separate.
Is volcanic eruptions very common in New Zealand? if so why? Volcanic eruptions are not common in New Zealand because the last eruption was about 500-1000 years ago.

Macaroni cheese

I am learning to make macaroni & cheese.

Today for food tech we made macaroni & cheese. My buddies were Soane and Meki. What I enjoyed about this was making it because all the challenges we faced. What I found challenging was trying to make the sauce thick and smooth and also cleaning the pot cause there was some burnt parts. What I didn't find challenging was mixing the sauce and the macaroni together.

Instructions to make macaroni & cheese:

Step 1: boil macaroni 2 c of water

Step 2: How to make white sauce

- fry onion with utter

-Add 1/2 c of flour, and fry for 3 mins

-Add 2 c of milk and stir until it is smooth

-Add macaroni, put into a baking tin, top up with cheese and bake for 15 mins

Volcanic Eruption

Volcanic Eruption

I am learning to do volcanic eruptions with baking soda & vinegar.

Today for science we did volcanic eruptions. First we got the vinegar and put it into a little cup. Then we used a eye dropper and used it to move the vinegar from the little cup into the measuring cylinder. After that we got the vinegar and put it into the measuring cylinder and we measured it to 5mm. Then we added it onto the tube and added colour.

After that we got the baking soda and added it to the tube. What happened was when we added the tube lots of bubbles started popping up then the vinegar inside the tube starting to fizz up and it all came out.
